Fingerprinting Service
Electronic Livescan
Effective January 1, 2010, the Maryland C.J.I.S (CRIMINAL JUSTICE INFORMATION SERVICES) and the Maryland State Police are no longer accepting inked fingerprint cards for Federal and State licensing or backgrounds. ALL fingerprinting must now be done by way of ELECTRONIC TRANSMISSION or "LIVESCAN" method. The Maryland State Police and local law enforcement agencies are no longer providing fingerprint services to the general public.
ABCO Investigations and Protection Agency, LLC, now offers and provides electronic Livescan Fingerprinting service to the general public. This service is offered on behalf of all State and Federal Government Agencies and private employers who require strict background and criminal checks as a prerequisite to any type of licensing as enumerated in the "click-on" license section of these pages.
ABCO Investigations, having been recently authorized and certified through the State of Maryland and C.J.I.S., can now electronically transmit State and Federal Criminal Background record requests to the Central Repository. The direct Livescan method captures all required Criminal History information on behalf of Federal and State agencies as well as licensing requirements for private individuals.
Pre-Registration is highly recommended, which is more convenient and efficient. Simply click on the license category and fill out the quick and easy form. Once you have pre-registered, bring with you proper and valid photo identification along with a copy of your pre-registration form to our office. All applicants are advised to call the office well ahead of time for an appointment to avoid any disappointments or delay in service. Fingerprinting will not be done without proper identification and I.D. and there are absolutely NO EXCEPTIONS. Once fingerprinted, your application must be submitted within 72 hours.

ABCO Investigations and Protection Agency, LLC will come to your location if there are numerous applicants for processing (12 or more). This service is "FREE OF CHARGE" depending on the number of applicants to be fingerprinted. For example, this service is convenient for larger businesses, private institutions, schools, government agencies, or any larger group of applicants requiring to be fingerprinted for Federal or State background checks.
Processing Time and General Information
Each applicant needs to be aware that processing and turn around times vary and can take from several weeks to several months to complete. If the applicant has not received background results within a time considered reasonable, the applicant may directly contact the appropriate Federal or State agency listed below for a status or update.
